Itinerary
Wake up at 6:30 AM and enjoy breakfast. Once finished, we’ll take a short 10-minute walk to the Rinjani Trek Center in Senaru to complete the registration process.
The hike begins at the Rinjani Trek Center in Senaru around 8:00 AM, where we’ll start walking through a lush tropical forest teeming with diverse plants, birds, and butterflies.
Our first stop will be at Post 2 Montong Satas (1,500 m), where we’ll rest and enjoy tea with biscuits. Afterward, we’ll resume trekking for approximately 2 hours to reach Post 3 Mondokan Lolak (2,000 m), where we’ll pause for another break and have lunch.
Following lunch, we’ll continue ascending for another 2 hours to the Senaru crater rim (2,641 m). This spot offers breathtaking views, second only to the summit. At the crater rim, we’ll witness an unforgettable sunset overlooking Mount Agung in Bali and the smoke rising from the new volcano near the lake. We’ll set up camp here and spend the night.
After breakfast, we’ll proceed with the journey down to the lake and hot springs.
The descent to the lake is steep and slightly slippery, taking about 2.5 hours to reach. Upon arrival, we’ll rest by the lakeside, where you can admire the scenic views, take a refreshing swim in the lake, or relax in the hot springs to ease any soreness from the trek.
Meanwhile, the porters will prepare lunch for us. Dinner will also be served here, and we’ll spend the night camping by the lakeside (2,000 m).
After lunch, we’ll depart from the lake and ascend to the Sembalun crater rim (2,639 m), a climb that takes about 2.5 hours.
We will set up camp for the night at the crater rim, where you can soak in stunning views of both the sunrise and sunset. On clear nights, the Milky Way will be visible, adding to the breathtaking experience.
At around 2:00 AM, we’ll wake up in the early morning darkness and start the day with a warm drink and a light breakfast. By 3:00 AM, we’ll begin our ascent to the summit of Mount Rinjani.
The climb starts with a moderately steep path, transitioning to a relatively easier yet longer trail. The final stretch involves navigating steep volcanic scree, which can be loose and challenging.
By 6:00 AM, we’ll reach the summit (3,726 m), where you’ll be rewarded with a stunning sunrise and a breathtaking panoramic view of Lombok, Bali, Sumbawa, and Segara Anak Lake.
After soaking in the views, we’ll descend back to the Sembalun crater rim in about 2 hours, where breakfast will be served. Following this, we’ll continue our descent to Sembalun Village, a journey that takes approximately 5 hours.
A car will be waiting to transport us back to Senaru Village, where you’ll be transferred to your next destination.
